Jelly – Belly !

Hi there!

Cat and Chez met at their gym this afternoon, since
they were both taking the six o’clock aerobics class.
They warmed up in the jogging machines for a
while, then entered the room waiting for their
trainer to start the class.

It was an extremely enjoyable routine for fifty
uninterrupted minutes, after which they went
next door to the cafe for a drink and a chat.

I’m still very concerned about this bulge in my
abdomen;    I’ve already limited my calories, and
as you know,  I’m exercising every day.
But to no avail  —  it still persists ,
Cat said feeling distressed.

I don’t feel good in my body or in my clothes;
and I don’t know what to wear, especially in the
summer, to cover up this growth in front of me
she continued almost in tears.

I know exactly what you mean;   it’s very difficult
to lose belly fat  —  I’ve been fighting against this
upsetting problem myself for many years now
Chez replied in a sad tone.

Lower body fat is a considerable worry for most
women.
Everybody wants to feel comfortable, attractive
and relaxed in their clothes.
Unfortunately, this abdominal fat is really stubborn,
and it will still stay there even if you diet and
exercise regularly.

This dangerous fat is connected with a number of
health problems, and it really is worse than just
being generally overweight.
So you do need to take all necessary steps to regulate
it and keep it under control.

Obviously it is not easy to eliminate this fat, so you must
be very willing, absolutely determined and completely
persistent to undertake solid permanent lifestyle changes.

A small amount of belly fat is good for you to protect
your lower internal organs.
But if it becomes a lot it is not healthy any more.

Apart from being overweight in general due to
over-eating and muscle loss, the most common causes
of stubborn abdominal fat are the following:

a)     Adrenal Imbalance

When you are constantly stressed your adrenal glands
keep on releasing excess cortisol and adrenaline,
causing serious hormonal imbalances in your body.
As a consequence, it starts accumulating surplus of
fat in the abdominal area.

The Answer

Manage your stress levels by avoiding or minimising
all stressors in your life.
Also use meditation, deep breathing, herbs and nature
walks
to reduce your cortisol levels.

b)     Oestrogen dominance

Excess oestrogen in your body encourages storage
of fat in the abdominal area.
Accumulation of this female hormone is encouraged
by eating conventionally raised meats and their
products as well as fish.
Also there is another contribution by the
environmental
toxins and poisons.

The Answer

The only thing you can do to avoid oestrogen
overload is to avoid all the above mentioned
harmful items in your everyday life.

c)     Menopause

During the climacteric years the female hormones
fluctuate a lot, and as a result the body stores
fat in the abdomen to balance these changes.

The answer

Manage your menopause status by reading detailed
advice in my earlier post Vicissitude!.

d)     Insulin Resistance

If you follow an unhealthy diet , eventually your
body will be unable to respond properly to insulin
production.
The final result will be that the excess blood sugar
will be converted to fat and stored in your
abdominal area.

The answer

Eliminate all processed carbohydrates from your
diet, and eat only pure whole foods.
Also eat healthy fats, vegetables, fruits, organic
meats and wild sea foods.

Here are some more tools for you to help you
lose some abdominal fat:

1)     Exercise to build and maintain muscle tissue.
Adopt the simplest of the exercises, which is Walking.
Walk every day at a moderate pace for thirty ( 30 )
minutes.
Keep on moving and standing the rest of day.

2)     Sleep for seven ( 7 ) hours every night, including
weekends.
This will keep you relaxed and burn fat in the body.

3)     Boost and support your gastrointestinal microbiota
to help you digest and absorb your foods better.
Eat fibrous foods and take a high quality probiotic
supplement, every other day.

Believe in yourself.

Vicissitude!

Hi there!

Lee was a professional woman, married but
childless, in her early forties.

For the last six months she had been experiencing
a number of unusual symptoms, which kept
her from sleeping during the night.

Suddenly I start feeling so hot that I really need
to cool down;   so I get up in the middle of the night
and have a refreshing shower , she said one day.

After considerable thinking, she decided to visit her
gyn and discuss with him
her many annoying problems.
It was then that she learnt she was entering an
early
menopause.

I don’t mind entering this new stage, and I really
don’t care about losing my fertility.
The only thing I want is to do whatever it takes
to feel good and keep my self image intact ,
she thought.

Some years later and now approaching fifty, Lee
met her friends once again, who asked her about
her latest experiences.

I must admit that this is a very lengthy rough
journey;   so I advise you to be understanding
and patient.
Also I believe you need to discuss your feelings
with your spouse to avoid any misunderstandings.
Likewise, I suggest you take good care of yourself
in order to be able to enjoy this new stage of
your life .
She told them feeling pleased with herself.

Pathway To Potentiality

Menopause is not a disease but a natural part
of the ageing process.
It is an unavoidable fact of life, and all females
will go through it eventually.
It usually occurs between the ages of forty ( 40 )
and sixty one ( 61 ).

As females age, their store of eggs is depleted,
and less estrogen is produced by the individual.
Consequently, the whole body starts behaving
very differently than before.

This whole process happens very gradually
over many years.
So here we have the four ( 4 ) natural stages of
menopause:

a)     Premenopause Stage:

This is the number of years during which the
female is fully fertile, and before any symptoms
of the second stage have started happening;
that means since menarche and before the age
of forty ( 40 ) years.

b)     Perimenopause Stage:

This is the transition years leading to the next
stage.
During this stage hormonal changes start taking
place, and you will experience some menopausal
symptoms.
Typically it is starting after the age of

forty ( 40 ) years, and lasting from six  ( 6 ) to
( 10 ) years, including the one ( 1 ) year after the
actual cessation of the female monthly cycles.

c)     Menopause Stage:

During this stage hormones continue falling.
This stage signifies the permanent cessation of the

female monthly cycles, and marks the end of
her reproductive period.
It usually lasts one year ( 1 ).

The average age of natural menopause is the age
of fifty one ( 51 ) years old.

d)     Postmenopause Stage:

This is the period starting one ( 1 ) year after the
physical cessation of the monthly cycles;
it lasts for several years and until the female
hormones drop completely, usually between
two ( 2 ) and ten ( 10 ) years.

Midlife Rebirth

During Menopause your body is going through
a lot of significant hormonal changes.
So your whole lifestyle and diet have to change
in order to fit the new standards;
because now the body is unable to heal and
repair in the same way as it did before.

Many women do feel that they need to review
the way they take care of themselves, so that
they can keep things under control during
this difficult transition.

The following advice will help you cope better:

L i f e s t y l e

a)     Taking regular exercise will help relieve
stress, keep the body strong, reduce symptoms
and control the weight.
Choose from Cycling, Vigorous Walking, Yoga
and Swimming.

b)     Stop smoking, if you do, now;   because
if you do not, you will be at a much higher risk
of developing osteoporosis and coronary
heart disease.

c)     Avoid drinking completely;   because if
you do not, not only your symptoms will be
exacerbated but also you will be increasing
your risk for breast cancer.

d)     Use various relaxation techniques to calm
any
anxieties you suffer in your mind, and avoid
all stressors
in your life as much as possible.

e)     Develop good sleep habits by adopting
healthy evening routines, and ensuring that
your bedroom is pleasant, dark, quiet and cool;
and your bed is very comfortable.

f)     Love and laugh a lot, socialize and keep
your relationship strong, so that you can
feel happy in your life.

g)     Spend enough time in nature either this
is mountain or sea in order to feel connected
with the Universe.

D i e t

” Let food be thy medicine and medicine be
thy food ”

Hippocrates

a)     Keep your body fully hydrated by drinking
plenty of liquids during the day, like herbal teas, pure
water and coconut water.
Doing so will detoxify your body, improve your
circulation and enhance your energy levels.
In addition, you will sleep better and reduce
your mood swings.

b)     Eat plenty of vegetables, and especially all
green leafy ones, which not only will alkalize your
body but also they are loaded with much needed
vitamins and minerals.

c)     Eat only organic and free range chicken,
turkey and eggs for full animal protein.

d)     Eat only wild caught fish, like salmon, cod,
sole and swordfish.

e)     Eat  only healthy fats and oils, like organic
virgin coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil and organic
butter.
Also eat all nuts and seeds, their oils and butters.

f)     Avoid all processed foods, sugar, soy products
and refined carbohydrates because they create
all kinds of imbalances in the body as well as
dangerous inflammation.

Powerful Evolution

Menopause is an all natural development of
life, and it does not require medical treatment.
Together with the above mentioned advice
you can apply some alternatives, like massage,
reflexology and aromatherapy.
You can also use a vaginal moisturizer to keep
you comfortable.

In addition, you can take the following supplements:
*     Vitamin C     1000mg
*     Vitamin E        400IU
*     Vitamin B complex     50mg
*     Omega 3 Fish Oil     1200mg – 2400mg
*     Calcium/Magnesium/Vitamin D/Boron/Vitamin K/Zinc
all together preferably in one pill.

In the event that you are experiencing severe symptoms,
you should take HRT/ERT treatment for a few years,
preferably as a skin patch or gel.

Also note that you can use only a vaginal estrogen
cream/gel for as long as you wish.

Finally, it is totally natural to feel and notice that
your whole body is changing dramatically.

Try to ignore all changes because you have no choice
in this matter  —  they will happen anyway.

Take full responsibility of your health, and love
yourself and your ageing body.

Enjoy your life !!

Sublime Truth!

Hi there!

She woke up in stages; finally her eyes
blinked open and glanced at the clock.
It was only 6:40am, but she was anxious to get up.
She put the music on and stepping into the
bathroom she looked at her image in the mirror.
She raised her hand and pushed her
tangled hair off her forehead.

She approached the mirror and started
examining her face; it looked creased and dry.
She thought: “I now definitely need to do
something about it..!”.
The condition of our skin is the most critical
factor as far as our appearance is concerned.
This ‘First Impression’ is always very important!

Hyaluronic Acid is a chemical produced by our bodies.
It exists mainly in our connective tissue
that supports our cells.

It keeps our skin wrinkle-free, elastic
and firm, and it supports our collagen and elastin fibres.
So eating foods containing this chemical or
enhancing its production in the body,
will help maintain a healthy, younger looking skin.

Hyaluronic Acid Sources

A)    The top source is the hormone Oestrogen.
By increasing our oestrogen levels we
ensure that our skin will look younger,
because oestrogen optimises the hyaluronic
acid in our skin.
The best natural way to increase our oestrogen
levels (unless we have a medical condition)
is by eating Soya products.
Soya contains phyto oestrogens, which behave
like the female oestrogen.

(1)  A glass of organic soya milk
(2)  Steamed edamame

are excellent sources.

B)     Second best is animal flesh.
Animal connective tissue and skin are rich
sources of hyaluronic acid.
By eating,

(1)  Chicken wings with skin
(2)  Chicken legs with skin
(3)  Fish with skin and bones

we increase our skin’s hyaluronic acid content.

C)     Some root vegetables can stimulate the body to produce more hyaluronic acid.
Best examples of common foods are:

(1) Parsnips
(2) Turnips
(3) Sweet potatoes

D)     Magnesium and Zinc containing foods are important for the synthesis of HA.
 Eat the following foods regularly:

(1) Wholegrains (rice, oats, wheat)
(2) Nuts
(3) Seeds
(4) Liver
(5) Beef
(6) Lamb

E)     Vitamin C and Retinol containing foods promote hyaluronic acid production.
Eat the following foods on a regular basis:

(1) Bell peppers
(2) Kiwi
(3) Leafy greens
(4) Citrus fruits
(5) Liver
(6) Fish oils

She thought…. Freedom, at last!

As we mature we accumulate knowledge
through our life experiences and become wiser.
We must listen to our feelings and choose to
handle our unique bodies accordingly.

Since ancient times women chose nutrition
as a means to enhance or reduce their hormonal
levels for better health.
