Groundwork!

Hi there!

Last week I met with my friend Dani to discuss
her weight loss success, which had me wondering
for some time now.

……” As you know, I’m going to the gym almost
every
day.
Six months ago one evening, I saw our
nutritionist,
who told me that I was overweight,
and I did need
to lose some of my weight if I wanted
to continue
with my routines.

I remember clearly she emphasized that I
should be eating a high fibre diet every day.

At that moment I started thinking that I must
change my daily eating habits, and focus
on her advice if I wanted to see results.
And so I did.

I began following a wholesome high fibre diet,
which together with my daily exercise changed
my body, and my whole life    and the results
are obvious .
She said smiling happily.

Beyond Expression

The word Fibre originates from the Latin Fibra.
It refers to very specific nutrients that when eaten,
can not be digested by the human digestive system.

The history of dietary fibre goes back to ancient
Greece.   At that time, they knew that eating fibre
was beneficial to their digestion.

But at the same time they believed that fibre was
a food waste, which not only was not absorbed in
any way but also it was causing the excretion of many
other useful nutrients from the body.

Furthermore, since it was a substance that offered
nothing to the taste and texture to any foods, they
took every necessary step to eliminate it from all
their products.

Source Of Nourishment

There are two categories of dietary fibre.

*     Soluble Fibre:
This dissolves in water and becomes gelatinous
during digestion.

Its benefits are:
–     Reduction of cholesterol levels.
–     Regulation of blood sugar levels.
Improvement of Digestive and Immune systems.
–     Enhancement of the overall health.

*     Insoluble Fibre:
This does not dissolve in water but it passes through

the digestive track unchanged.

Its benefits are:
–     Regulation of bowel movements.
     Maintenance of bowel health.

Your Best daily dietary fibre choices are as follows:

For Soluble Fibre eat,

1)     Peas, Beans and Lentils.
2)     Oats and Rye.
3)     Avocado, Broccoli and Carrots.
4)     Prunes and Berries.
5)     Sweet Potatoes and Onions.
6)     Almonds and Flax Seeds.

For Insoluble Fibre eat,

1)     Brown Rice, Quinoa and Faro.
2)     Nuts and Seeds.
3)     Green Beans and Spinach.
4)     Cauliflower and Courgette.

Health – Giving

Here are some suggestions for adding more
fibre to your every day protein meals:

a)     Start your day with a wholesome breakfast like
whole oats with blueberries, seeds and almond milk.

b)     For lunch cook legumes like beans, lentils or split
peas with plenty of vegetables.

c)     For dinner cook sweet potatoes, whole wheat pasta
or brown rice with some vegetables again.

d)     For snack you can have fruits like apple and pear,
nuts or make your own cake using quinoa, rice, oat and
coconut flours.

Eating fibre rich foods has major health benefits,
including body weight control.

Fibre does not add calories and at the same time it
will give you the feeling of fullness, so you will not
want to eat any more.

In addition, high fibre foods contain a lot of vitamins,
minerals and other essential nutrients for health
maintenance.

In conclusion, focus on all sources of fibre in your
every day diet to collect and enjoy the benefits.

Quantum Leap!

Hi there!

Every night when getting ready for bed she
was watching her face in the mirror and
getting more and more obsessed with her
changing skin.

She noticed it was dry, dull and rough with
large pores, loss of elasticity, deeper lines,
a lot of sagging around the jaw and neck,
as well as one liver spot on her cheek.

Her bathroom cupboard was full of all kinds
of anti-ageing creams, serums and other
youth enhancing treatments;   but still she
could not notice any significant difference
in her skin appearance.

After long consideration she came to the
conclusion that her skin care regime was
not so efficient only because she had not
changed her lifestyle yet;
and probably her eating habits were
speeding up her skin’s ageing.

From now on I’m going to start making
healthy choices and take good care of
myself and especially my diet to improve
my overall well-being and appearance ……

Ageing is a continual complex biological
process that all of us will experience eventually.
There is a good number of hypotheses regarding
ageing, none of which works solely but all
together at the same time.

Here are three of the most common theories
of ageing together with nutritional advice
to transform your health and your general
appearance
including your face skin.

a)      Free Radicals:

Oxidative stress can damage our cell structure
with dangerous consequences to our health.
A diet full of anti-oxidant foods will slow down
this destruction.
Supplemental vitamins E and C will also help
against this process.

b)     Tissue Inflammation:

Although inflammation is a natural curative
body response, when it is becoming long
term it proves harmful to the body tissues.
Include a variety of fresh unprocessed
foods in your daily diet as well as plenty
of vegetables and fruits.

c)     Hormone Imbalances:

When our hormones are out of sync ageing
will follow soon.
Eat a diet full of phytohormones and take
supplemental Vitamin B complex.

A l s o:

Your digestion is one of the most important
biological processes for your life.
Every part of your health and beauty starts
with good digestion to absorb all nutrients.

For a healthy and efficient digestive system
eat a high fibre diet daily, and avoid cold
foods and drinks, too hot spices and saturated fats.

Chew slowly, eat less and more often and
aim for a short walk after meals to prevent
indigestion.

Phase Change

This is the most productive, rewarding
and beneficial way to delay, prevent
and even reverse ageing naturally.

1.     Eat oily fish three times a week or take
an omega fish oil supplement daily.

2.     Eat two fruits daily with one being
from the berry family.

3.     Eat whole grains or pulses daily.

4.     Eat raw nuts and seeds daily.

5.     Eat four portions of all colours of vegetables
daily lightly steamed.

6.     Eat lean protein daily including four/five
eggs per week.

7.     Use only olive oil and coconut oil.

8.     Drink a few cups of liquids daily and
pure organic milk alternatives with your breakfast.

Seraph & Cherub

Hi there!

I have been researching the subject of Probiotics,
these healthy bacteria which live
in our intestines,
for a very long time now.
It is a fascinating subject and there have been
lots of claims for these little “angels”.

The Claims

1)   They support our Immune System.

2)   They reverse Intestinal Inflammations.

3)   They assist with Gluten Sensitivity.

4)   They promote Vaginal Health.

5)   They help prevent various Cancers.

6)   They help with the Digestion process.

7)   They fight Free Radicals.

8)   They preserve all the Key Nutrients in our body.

9)   They boost our Heart Health.

From the moment we are born we are exposed
to our mother’s good bacteria,
which then start
migrating in to our intestines.

Since ancient times people have been eating
various fermented foods to promote
the growth
of these friendly bacteria in their bodies, and
protect themselves from
different illnesses.

As we grow old and mature our bacterial
colonies are threatened by every day dangers
like, antibiotics, processed foods, stress, chlorine,
alcohol and smoking.
In order for us to enjoy their benefits they have
to exist in the right balance.

There are two ways we can enhance the
probiotic colonies in our body:

(A)   Eating fermented common foods on a daily basis:

        The Delicious Helpers

            1)   Live Goat Yogurt

            2)   Kefir made with Goat Milk

            3)   Sauerkraut, Fermented Cabbage

            4)   Dark Chocolate of high quality

            5)   Miso, Japanese Soup

            6)   Pickled Vegetables without preservatives

            7)   Tempeh, Fermented Soya Beans

(B)   Taking a probiotic supplement of the most used strains.

        The Invisible Helpers

            1)   Lactobacillus Acidophilus

            2)   Lactobacillus Rhamnosus

            3)   Lactobacillus Paracasei

            4)   Bifidobacterium Lactis

If you take a supplement you do not need to take it everyday.
Three to four times a week will be sufficient.
